2015 Season - Week 22 (Cont)

Superfood

Also a huge thanks to Cheryl as always (and Marcus this time) for a Super Bowl feast of pulled pork rolls, buttermilk fried chicken, Carolina Banana pudding and Not Weed Brownies to fortify the seven fans in attendance through to 4am. Cheryl on behalf of all BUMS that have attended across the season can I say a huge thank you for all the fine food you have prepared, and the same goes to Johnnie and H our other hosts this season. All-BUMS 2015 After a run of three consecutive (and five of the last six years) winners being Running Backs we have a different position for the 2015 BUMS Player of the Year. The one bright spot for Cam Newton last night was his announcement as the BUMS Player of the Year (probably better than winning a Super Bowl ring, in my opinion). Remarkably he is the first Quarterback to win the accolade since 1997 when Steelers QB Kordell Stewart was voted MVP. The future of the NFL is in good shape as many young players made the All-BUMS team for the first time (like Cam) including his backup at QB Blake Bortles. The starting RBs are rookie Todd Gurley and perennial All-BUM Adrian Peterson making his sixth appearance (fifth as starter). The backups are Devonta Freeman and Jeremy Hill. Rob Gronkowski led the receivers for his fourth start, along with Larry Fitzgerald (3 starts, 1 backup) and Odell Beckham who starts for a second consecutive year. Carolina’s kicker Graham Gano and coach Ron Rivera were run away winners at their position though there was a big twist for the second kicker in the All-BUMS team. Stephen Gostkowski got that honour after two people voted for him as their second favourite because he missed that Extra Point in the AFC Championship game! The 12 BUMS who voted made 50 different choices for their favourite players (see votes attached). BUMS End of Season Dinner – New Date Needed Originally scheduled for Feb 18th, this has been postponed as many BUMS including Mark, Daz and newcomer Alex have told me they can’t make it. Let me know if you want to come and which of these three dates you can do and we’ll go with the most popular. Wednesday 17th Feb, Monday 22nd Feb or Thursday 3rd March. Let me know asap so I can re-book the same venue in Holborn, The Bountiful Cow (a public house devoted to Beef – as they say) - See the menu at:- http://www.thebountifulcow.co.uk/new/menu Final Newsletters So that’s it for the season but I have more newsletters to send out over the next fortnight. They will include Franchise Player availability, free agent NFL players, our medal table, trading day analysis, weekly scoring chart & the updated All-time leading point scorer.
